Will fluocinolone acetonide reduce my bikini rash?
Whenever I shave my bikini line, I always get a horrible rash which usually ends up with white heads. I went to the Pharamcy and I was given a cream with fluocinolone acetonide (0.1mg) Betamethasone Valerate (0.5)...is this going to help reduce the itching and the horrible rash to disappear?? It's so gross, Short of having laser to remove it, this is the best "economical" choice. Any opinions, advice? Its coming up to swimming season....yikes!
I don't live in the USA, so i'm afraid I can't get that cream. Also, I have tried not wearing tight underwear, even NO underwear and the problem still persists....gah! |

| | The cream that you have will reduce the inflammation in the area. In Wal-Mart, they sell this stuff called bikini zone, that might be helpful. The best way to shave is with a brand new razor and shave in the direction that your hair grows. When almost all the hair is gone, then shave in the opposite direction. Make sure not to wear too tight panties. |

| | This is a mild corticosteroid that is used, among other things, to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis, or as part of a therapy for melasma (darkening of patches of the skin). It could also be part of an appropriate treatment for acne, but at best it might only treat the symptom (inflammation) and not the cause, which could be hormonal, bacterial or viral. Consult a pharmacist or dermatologist. And if you found a product prescribed for someone else, don't use it. |

| | It is for inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. It is too strong for thin skinned areas like the face and groin. It can also make acne and fungal infections worse. I wouldn't use it unless directed by a doctor. |

a diabetic I know was asked to do a trial drug for Macular Edema called ASI-001 Fluocinolone Acetonide?
what other treatments are available? We don't want to do a clinical research study if there is good treatment for this. |

| | unfortunately burning with laser is probably the only best treatment for diabetic complications of the retina. I have not heard of this but the steroid nature makes sense, hope it helps and hope your patient gets better, I would refer you to big centers like mayo clinic or cleveland clinics etc, good luck |

Yeast Infection - Can any of these creams work that i already have?
I dont think Ive had a cream for a yeast infection - But I do have some creams here...Wil any of these work:
Fluocinolone acetonide cream, triple antibiotic ointment, elidel cream, ammonium lactate cream...Just wanna see if I have any medication or if I do have to buy something at the store. Also this yeast infection is just starting, last night me and my partner had unprotected sex. He is curious if he needs to go to the Dr or is there anything over the counter for males?

| | no, none of them. You can buy canesten creme over the counter and both use it, also ou can now buy a single dose oral treatmeny which saves a lot of itching. Alternatively you can apply a tampon dipped into Live yoghurt, the natural bacteria in the yoghurt will re balance the bacteria internally, this is also quite soothing too.
Also buy some condoms whils you are in the chemist, yeast in the last infection you want to pick up ! |

8 weeks pregnant and have developed a really bad rash on my legs, lower stomach, breasts. Can it be PUPPPS?
I saw my dermatologist today, who prescribed Fluocinolone Acetonide ointment and Zyrtec. But didn't really state a clear diagnosis. The rash started at ankles and has now spread all over my lower stomach, legs, breasts. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and am wondering if anyone else has experienced similar rashes/hives that early in their pregnancy. Thank you! |

| | O.M.G that sucks. I had the " pregnancy rash" in my last month as opposed to in the beginning. It was like I was one big hive. It went everywhere except my face and neck.The doc didn't know what it was at first, then we came to the conclusion it was hormonal. The only thing that gave any relief was Benadryl cream and keeping cold. Any heat made me crazy. I couldn't take any oral meds, but the Zyrtec might help in a few days.

However, it is too strong to use on the face, as it can cause skin atrophy and damage to underlying blood vessels. Thus, to use it on your popped blood vessel is not only not indicated, but is totally WRONG, as it will cause further damage. |

Is it dangerous to ingest Triamcinolone Acetonide paste?
About one week ago I was using Kenalog in Orabase (aka Triamcinolone Acetonide) oral paste for a canker sore I had, and then a few days later my stomach and digestive system started to bother me. I had, and still have some pain in the below my ribs, a strange "cold" acidy feeling down my esophagus, and an overall feeling of "yuck."
Can this medication, if swallowed, cause peptic ulcers? I didn't swallow much at all, and a few months before when I used it, more was swallowed than this time and I had no problems. What do you think? Can Triamcinolone Acetonide paste, if ingested, cause an ulcer? Or could this just be a stomach flu? Thank you! |

Only the doctor can prescribe this medicine because this medicine has a side effect. If the patient is under certain vaccines, such as measles or mumps it can interact with triamcinolone acetonide. The same with people who have diabetes, bacterial and viral infection; also other drugs can add risk of side effect like barbiturates. Another concern is that triamcinolone acetonide may lower the ability of the body to fight infection. It is therefore imperative to avoid people who have colds or other types of infections. The drug is usually not recommended for children because triamcinolone affects the growth rate in children. |

So it seems very unlikely that the medication can help,
As your asking about the medication,
I presume you have not had the ringworm diagnosed by a doctor, as there are many skin complaints that resemble ringworm,
One that comes to mind is psoriasis, which is a virus, and the medication for ringworm and psoriasis are not compatible |

| | Although a topical corticosteroid like triamcinolone is sometimes used to help relieve the itching, this should be avoided as much as possible. Steroids are never used as the only treatment in ringworm infections, as their use may worsen the infection and make the fungus more likely to spread into the hair follicles
The best med out there for ringworm is Terbinafine (Lamasil). You can buy the cream over the counter. Apply twice a day for 2-3 weeks. (Morning and night is easiest)
Also, how many ringworm marks do you have? If you have a cluster that has formed a plaque you need to see your doctor because you will need an oral med to treat it and a topical will not suffice. |

I have a really bad cold sore with two big blisters on both lips. anyway, the doctor at my college clinic prescribed me with Triamcinolone Acetonide coming as dental paste. After i read the instruction, which says the medication should not be used if having herpes-type infection, i am now very confused and worried. Could anyone please help me? I'd appreciate it!
well, i was told to apply twice daily. my concern is that whether or not this medication will make sore even worse. |

| | Definitely check with your doctor or pharmacist. And ask your doctor for a prescription for Valtrex for the cold sores.

Where to buy Mycolog-II (Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream) without a prescription?
I'm looking to buy a couple of tubes of Mycolog-II, the generic version is called Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream, without a prescription.
It is simply a skin ointment cream, nothing crazy, but it requires a prescription and I dont have insurance and would simply like to order some quickly.

| | Are delivery marks the same as stretch marks? Triamcinolone cream is a steroid, the US brand name is Kenalog. Steroids can thin the skin with frequent use, so I don't see how applying it could help stretch marks. |

Help removng psoriasis scales with fluocinonide?
I was wondering how you can enhance or speed up the curative effects of fluocinonide on psoriasis scale. Is there another OTC chemical to combine with? The solution is the only thing that works somewhat on the plaques. The creams, (fluocinolone) ointments just keep the plaques from worsening, but don't reduce at all. |

Not sure about creams you're reffering to but here are some other ideas to help the healing process.
Here is a herb remedy that will work.
1. Take 1-3 droppersful of Echinacea Plus Tincture (at herbdoc.com or another qualified site) to strengthen the immune system.
2. Rub Garlic oil ALL over the affected area (Garlic will kill anything if you use enough of it)
3. Give 1-3 glasses of Activated Charcoal Slurry per day (to absorb the toxins out of the blood)
4. Mix equal parts of Aloe Vera Gel, Slippery Elm Powder and Activated Charcoal Powder together (absorbs the toxins externally)
5. Apply a thin layer of this mixture over the AFFECTED area(s).
6. Continue this treatment, until the desired Results are achieved.
This is healing at it's highest point.
Cause
Eczema is often called Dermatitis, and may be a symptom of an omega-3 fatty acid deficiency. Eczema can be due to allergies, allergies secondary to digestive disorders such as hydrochloric acid deficiency, rashes secondary to immune diseases, genetic metabolic disorders, and/or nutritional deficiencies, especially of niacin (vitamin B3) and B6, as well as other B vitamins.
To minimize your risk of developing eczema, avoid irritating substances, wear natural nonirritating materials, use soothing ointments, and check to see if dietary, nutritional, and/or and allergy-causing factors need to be considered.
Other ideas that will help:
Juice Therapy: The following juice combinations can help speed healing: black currant and red grapes; carrot, beet, spinach, cucumber, and parsley; and wheat grass juice.
Nutritional Supplementation: Vitamin A and GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), an omega-6 essential fatty acid found in high quantities in evening primrose oil, have both been shown to improve the symptoms of eczema. Vitamin E. Other useful supplements for preventing and reversing eczema include vitamin B complex, vitamin B6, vitamin E, magnesium, and zinc.
Topical Treatment: Apply evening primrose oil directly to cracked and sore areas of the skin. A topical paste made from ginkgo and licorice root extract has also been shown to improve eczema symptoms.
