If olanzapine is not addictive, how does it improve mood?
Been on olanzapine for 5 months now and wondering if it actually does anything for me.

Get in touch with the doctor who prescribed it for you. That doctor would be the one who is able to tell you just exactly how it affects your mood. The way a mood stabilizer works is different from one person to another.

Yes quite likely it will make you drowsy and sleepy. However it is not recommended to increase your dose unless prescribed by your doctor. You are doubling your normal dose, which puts you at risk of other side effects also.

If you are planning on doing this because you have trouble sleeping, there are other safer methods of dealing with this. Have a look on the internet for insomnia, and perhaps talk to your doctor about it.

Tri Formative Prayer worked for me. It is supposed to be Christian, which I am not by any means. Basically it is hypnosis. Worked like a charm. Lost 20 pounds and never gained it back. Check it out if you want. I found it on www.therisinson.com in the store tab.

Zyprexa is a strong blocker of D-2 Receptor. It does hit many other receptors.

5HT2A, M1, H1, D1, D2, D3, D4, 5hT6, 5HT3, 5HT2C, 5HT2A.

Very close to Clozapine in chemical make-up.

Makes you tired, and fat.

Sold the stuff for 5 years. Works great for short term, but long term these days most docs go other places.

Do you think 19 olanzapine and 21 celexa could kill someone?
if not kill you, what will it do to you?

If you, or someone you know, took the above drug cocktail, you need to head to the ER.

Drug overdoses vary from person to person. It may result in a miserable night of vomiting, but could also result in loss of life. If you, or someone you know, has overdosed, get to an emergency room asap.

For what its worth:
Celexa overdose symptoms include:

Dizziness
Sweating
Nausea and vomiting
Shakiness (tremor)
Drowsiness
Fast heartbeat (tachycardia).

Other Celexa overdose symptoms may include, but are not limited to:

Amnesia (memory loss)
Confusion
Seizures
Trouble breathing
Blue skin
Muscle pain
Irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
Coma
Loss of life.

In studies, very high doses of Celexa (up to 2000 mg) did not cause loss of life. However, loss of life is more likely to occur if the drug is taken with other medications or alcohol.

For olanzapine:
Symptoms of an overdose include tachycardia, agitation, dysarthria, decreased consciousness and coma. Death has been reported after an acute overdose of 450 mg, but also survival after an acute overdose of 1500 mg.[30] There is no specific, known antidote for olanzapine overdose, and even physicians are recommended to call a certified poison control center for information on the treatment of such a case.

On psychiatric medications?
Which of the following drugs is the most sedating:

Chlorpromazine, Droperidol, Fluphenazine, Fluphenthixol, Haloperidol, Pericyazine, Pimozide, Thioridazine, Thiothixene, Trifluoperazine, Zuclopphenthixol, Amilsipride, Olanzapine, Seroquel, Risperidone, Clozapine, Aripiprazole.

These are all major tranquilizers. I want to know which is the most sedating. I want something to knock me flat. Thanks People.

I'm sure Haloperidol is pretty strong... I mean, that's what they use in psychiatric patients in the middle of severe episodes.

Would a combination of 1880mg of Paxil and 75mg of Zyprexa be a fatal overdose?
Paxil is Paroxetine and Zyprexa is Olanzapine
If that quantity is not enough, what would be the ideal quantity?

All the way out would be about 23 days. First half life is around 3 days, and you should feel change then.

Abilify is an activating med, too much so for some with bipolar. That you are still having problems on Zyprexa could mean your dose isn't high enough. ??? That's a guess. What isn't a guess is that it is very much in your interest to call your doctor.
