Yaz to Tri-Previfem..?
I used to take Yaz birth control, but due to a change in insurance I have to switch to Tri-Previfem (generic Ortho Tri-Cyclen). I know that Yaz and Ortho Tri-Cyclen are similar, but has anyone experienced bad side effects from switiching between these birth controls or taking Tri-Previfem?

Fever blisters and tri-previfem?
I started taking tri-previfem two months ago and every since have had a least one fever blister a week. I am prone to fever blisters but never have them this often and was wondering if the tri-previfem might be the cause. Has anybody else had this problem?

I went through a period in my life when I was having an outbreak of cold sores practically every week, but it was related to stress more than anything else. A flare up of cold sores can be caused by stress, dehydration, too much sun, getting run down, and various other stressors, but I don't think your medication is the cause. The suggestion for Valtrex is a good one. It is the only thing that works for cold sores. It has made a tremendous difference for me.

I just started taking it a few days ago and have definitely noticed my anxiety become a lot worse than it was previously. I never knew that Tri Previfem and Yaz were basically the same thing which explains why I'm so out of whack emotionally since Yaz made me feel the same way.

Is there a difference between the birth control pills trinessa and tri previfem?
Hi,

I went to get my trinessa refill yesterday only to be informed that it is no longer offered anywhere? I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true? Also, I was given tri previfem as a replacement and told it was the exact same thing?I am not sure this is the case. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.

They're the same thing, just a generic with a different, but similar name.
It says it's the same on the drug manufacturers website - http://www.tevapharmusa.com/default.aspx?pageid=70

Tri-Previfem vs. Tri-Sprintec?
I used to get my birth control at Walmart, but then my prescription company changed and stopped covering it there. My prescription is for Tri-Sprintec, so it's really cheap at Walmart even without insurance, but I still don't want to pay more than I have to. Anyway, the new prescription company insisted on using their stupid mail-order pharmacy or they wouldn't cover their half of the cost. So . . . I got everything switched to their mail-order pharmacy (which I HATE), and they sent me Tri-Previfem. Apparently, it's the generic of the generic birth control I was already taking . . .? Well, I just started the pack of Tri-Previfem directly following the end of my last Tri-Sprintec pack, and I noticed the colors of the pills are different. Is this a problem? Tri-Previfem has white pills on the first week and tanner pills on the last, but Tri-Sprintec had tanner ones on the first week and white on the last. Am I going to start having my period on the first week of pills, or does the differing color not mean anything?

just continue with them as before. Different companies have different colors, not a biggie. You will be fine

Do Tri-Previfem birth control pills cause weight gain?
I just recently stopped taking the depo shot. While on it i gained 25 lbs! I'm hoping to lose the weight now that i've stopped it. I'm thinking about trying this Tri-Previfem BC now. Will it cause weight gain also?

all birth controls act differently. Depo is the only one that has been noted for causing you to gain a SIGNIFICANT amount a weight. with others, you may gain two or three pounds, five at the most. If you gain more than that, you will have to attribute that to your eating habits more than the birth control pills.

Scared of taking Previfem because it could make my acne worse?
I'm 14 and my doctor prescribed me previfem to help with my mild acne. It's not that bad but I'm scared it could get a lot worse. If it does get worse, how long will it take to get better if it ever does?

Tri-Previfem and Women's Extenze?
I am planning on taking Women's Extenze because my sex drive is nearly zero. Now Women's Extenze warns: Extenze Women does contain three herbs that are not recommended with hormonal birth control use. My question is: Would Women's Extenze lower the effectiveness of Tri-Previfem?

One common problem that happens is this. I have been there and done that. You have to figure out what it is first that is destroying your sex drive. If your on medication like birth control or anti-depressants that is something to think about and do research on. Other then that it could just be stress, maybe the kids, really anything that makes your life stressful can do this and lower the libido.

One thing I tried that seemed to work while I was doing it was exercising. I just felt sexier doing it which kind of boosted my libido. However it wasn't the best solution for me. My friend told me about these herbal enhancers that are made from natural herbs and don't cause any side effects besides having wild sex. She said it's the female version of viagra. I had to find out.

I would always have a weak orgasm too (if I had one at all), which after trying this sex enhancer, it boosted them tremendously. I don't get multiple orgasms but I've had plenty since being on these herbs. It's seriously like the best vibrator ride you've ever experienced. These things make me horny all the time, some days I don't even take them because the urge is just too strong.

Don't try out single herbs because they don't do it like the blend of herbs these scientists and researchers pick out. I've tried a couple of them by itself and they did crap. The stuff that I'm on is called Hersolution, at the time I saved money on it at herenhancement.com . Make sure you get the 3 month supply that way you fall under the guarantee/return policy if the herbs don't work for you, you can return them with no questions ask. I bet they will work though and you won't have any problems. Also if your on medication of any sort, check out the gel because if your like me, you wouldn't want to swallow any thing that might react with the medications your already on.

Well have a good day and hopefully you solved your problem.

Previfem is the generic version of the Ortho Tri-Cyclen contraceptive. It contains 0.25 mg of the progestational compound, norgestimate, and 0.035 mg of the estrogenic compound ethinyl estradiol. Alesse is a name brand oral contraceptive. It contains 100 micrograms of the synthetic progestin compound, levonorgestrel, and 20 micrograms of the synthetic estrogen compound, ethinyl estradiol (note, 1000 micrograms is to equal one milligram).

Typical failure rates of both are less than 3% per year; side effects are consistent with the class of oral contraceptives (typical side effects include common nausea, vomiting, bleeding between menstrual periods, weight gain, breast tenderness, and difficulty wearing contact lenses).

They are very similiar.

Is tri-previfem a bad birth control? I read a lot of reviews and now I'm worried to start taking it?
I have a weight problem, and I've read that is causes significant weight gain AND bad acne. :/ If I tried it for a week, would I know whether I gained weight or not?
Also, I just want to know if the medicine is bad or not.
invisible.

If it has bad reviews, why don't you just try a different brand? Birth control is actually supposed to help improve acne conditions. I use Trinessa and it works really well for a lighter/less painful period, I have no acne, and I haven't gained any weight since on it. It's the one my insurance covers too.
